Let it snow!

Sadhbh’s Weekly Breakdown

Blog entry 1

So, this morning was the first Technical Writing lab. I had a good bit of difficulty setting up my blog. I apologized to Kathryn in advance. For some reason it wouldn’t launch properly whilst giving me a free URL option. Everyone else got to use something with their names so, you win some, you lose some. Oh well.

About forty minutes into class, it started to rain, hail, sleet and then an intense flurry of snow that stuck very quickly. It genuinely looked like a White Christmas from a wholesome family movie.

Everyone else was able to leave early enough but as per usual, I can never understand anything to do with technology, so I had to stay behind for the extra help. But eventually I was able to launch and catch up with everyone in Starbucks.

Then those of us who do English made our may to the room. But we didn’t want to go outside so we found a way to go through “the tunnel”. Why is this relevant? Well I think this speaks to the dynamic amongst the group.

Caleb and I have know each other for a few years. Sean and I are cousins but hadn’t seen each other for years prior to September. On the first day we found Xan wandering around campus having misses his Orientation. When we found out he was journalism we adopted him into the group. As a fellow Hufflepuff and being very maternal, we grew very close, quickly.

So whilst we were in the tunnel we all seemed to let our immature side out and proceeded to zoom up and down the tunnel trying to hype ourselves up for English.

. We’re still getting used to the idea of having Carrie Griffin instead or David. We got a bit too used to David in September so it was difficult to transition over to Carrie’s style. She’s funny though and is very into Twitter for someone born before the 90’s. “Millennials” as they call my generation.

I’ve always liked English though. To this day, one of my biggest shames is that I had to do Ordinary in my Leaving Cert., but this was purely to diminish my workload so that I didn’t fail Foundation Level Maths.

Hopefully with English and the editing and writing skills I will learn in this degree; I can someday realise my dreams of becoming a writer and or book editor.
